Our approach to rehabilitation is one-on-one and hands on. You will receive a detailed assessment and full treatment during the first visit so that we understand your concerns and get the healing process to start as soon as possible. A home exercises and self management program is always provided before you finish your first appointment so that you are in control of the pain and discomfort. Every follow up visit, our therapists will work with you to provide treatment, reassess your progress and make recommendations for your home management program. We treat you as a person, not just a condition or a injured body part.

To better serve our community, every Tuesday between 10:30am-12:30pm, our physiotherapist provides free services to low income seniors and children who do not have extended health insurance coverage.

Sonia Gingras RPT Registered Physiotherapist
Sonia is a licenced physiotherapist graduated from University of Ottawa with great distinction (Magna Cum Laude) in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy. She is counting over 20 years of clinical experience in orthopaedics in private practice, both in Quebec and in Ontario. She has interest for orthopaedics injuries and impairments of all kind, including the temporomandibular joint (TMJ). She also worked with a significant number of military clients and law enforcement officers who have particular needs and goals to maintain and enhance their operational readiness.
During her extensive career, Sonia accumulated diverse postgraduate courses in orthopaedics and in manual therapy and she is always eager to improve her knowledge and expertise through professional development.
Sonia is a professional, dynamic, conscientious and caring physiotherapist. She offers a compassionate approach to patient rehabilitation, focusing on high-quality care and service. She builds a strong professional relationship with patients of all ages through patient-first and empathetic care. She believes in team work, with the patient behind at the center of his own rehabilitation.

Micheline Hall RPT Registered Physiotherapist
Micheline graduated from the University of Ottawa in 2014 with a Master of Health Sciences degree in Physiotherapy. Upon obtaining her diploma, she was also a recipient of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association Award, which is given to one student per university program per year, in recognition of their outstanding academic and clinical performance. Prior to this, she had completed her Bachelor of Social Work at the Université de Moncton in New Brunswick.
Micheline recently relocated to Ottawa after working as a physiotherapist in Newfoundland for almost two years. Prior to that she had been working as a physiotherapist in Ottawa in private clinics dealing with musculoskeletal injuries and specializing in neurological rehabilitation. She is a member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association (CPA), the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario (CPO), and of the Newfoundland and Labrador College of Physiotherapists (NLCPT). In her spare time, Micheline enjoys working out at the gym, hiking, practicing yoga, and cooking. She is fluently bilingual in both official languages, and has a special interest in shoulder rehabilitation and dance-related injuries given her extensive experience in various dance styles. She looks forward to meeting you and using her active approach to help you develop your individualized physiotherapy program.
Matthew Liu R.Ac, RMT Registered Acupuncturist / Registered Massage Therapist
Matthew leaned traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) from a distinguished martial art master as his yang age in China. With this inheriting he refresh and expand his knowledge of TCM and Therapeutic Massage (TuiNa) through schooling in International Academy of Health Education in Ottawa and gained double diplomas in TCM Acupuncture Practitioner and Massage therapy. Matthew joined iBalance Physiotherapy in August 2015 to provide our clients with a comprehensive intervention in rehabilitation.
Matthew is able to work with a variety of conditions and perform a variety of treatment techniques. His proficiencies are including Swedish & deep tissue massage, hydrotherapy, Remedial ROM & stretching / strengthening, Shiatsu and Chinese therapeutic massage (TuiNa), Cupping and Moxibustion. His expertise is at treating neurological and muscular-skeletal disorders:

Matthew also practices acupuncture therapy. He is proficient in the Classical acupuncture, Master Tung’s points and Dr. Tan balance method techniques. Acupuncture treatments consist of inserting thin, disposable needles into the skin to balance the flow of Qi and stimulate the body ability to heal. Vanessa Guppy RMT Registered Massage Therapist
Vanessa graduated from the massage therapy program with Advanced Diploma [September 2012- 2015] at Algonquin College. She is passionate about the therapeutic effects of massage therapy in terms of alleviating pain and stress. She believes that for optimal well being we must be nourished properly and take part in regular physical activity. Vanessa ensures quality treatments and expects clients to use the provided remedial exercises to achieve optimal functionality and lengthen the effects of a treatment. She provides friendly encouragement and is eager to welcome her new clients!

Dr. Cecilia Zeng R. TCMP, R. AC Registered Acupuncturist and Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner
Dr. Zeng has over 26 years of experience in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Acupuncture. After graduating from Yunnan University of TCM in China with a degree in Acupuncture and Herbology, Dr. Zeng spent 10 years practicing at the Xindu Hospital in Sichuan, China. After coming to Canada, she established her own acupuncture and TCM clinic in Toronto in 2006. In 2014, Mrs Zeng moved to Ottawa to be with her family and joined iBalance Physiotherapy to serve our clients with the extensive clinical experience and expertise.
Acupuncture requires the understanding and mastering of the many complicated theories of Traditional Chinese Medicine to be able to diagnose and treat a wide variety of conditions and ailments. Acupuncture is widely used for acute or chronic pain, migraine and tension headaches, depression and emotional disorders, digestive and menstrual concerns. Acupuncture is also effective in aiding weight loss and is used in non-invasive cosmetic changes. The use of acupuncture is also used in achieving optimal wellness in individuals without any symptoms but would like a boost in energy and vitality.
Dr. Zheng (Cecilia) Zeng is a Registered Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner (TCMP) and a Registered Acupuncturist (R. Ac.) in Ontario. She is also currently a member of the Canadian Society of Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture (CSCMA) and the Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture Association of Canada (CMAAC).
